[In The Beginning]
Joseph Hong began his forays into the publishing arena as an Advertisement Sales Manager for a teen lifestyle magazine. After four successful years as an ad sales person, he was appointed Business Manager for PC World Singapore in 1989, and was subsequently seconded to manage the business unit of PC World Malaysia in 1991 for two years.
[Going Regional]
He was Regional Editor for Eurotrade Computer Magazine, Multimedia IT Magazine and European Sources & News Magazine from 1992 to 1998. During his tenure as Regional Editor for the three publications, he assisted in securing advertisement revenues from regional accounts. He also reported on major IT trade shows like CeBit, Comdex, Computex, CES, etc.
[Home Sweet Home]
He was at the helm as the Managing Editor for POSh Magazine in 1999, and was instrumental in developing the title as a premier home and interior magazine that included editorial features of homes of local celebrity artistes. POSh Magazine was then the first premier home and interior magazine to have local celebrity artistes grace its monthly covers.
After a three-year stint as Managing Editor with POSh Magazine, Joseph Hong was Consulting Editor for: Home Decor Handbook (half yearly), Aquarium & Pets Asia (bi-monthly), Leisure & Hobby Asia (quarterly) and VIVA! Magazine (monthly).
He was Associate Editor for CHOICES from October 2003 to February 2005, and thereafter the Chief Editor for the weekly publication, ValueAds. He set-up, strategised, and managed the editorials of this weekly publication till he relinquished the position in October 2005.
Joseph Hong was Consulting Editor for Gethat Magazine from 1 November 2004 to 9 April 2007. He was instrumental in revamping Gethat Magazine with a lean editorial team from its early tech-style mag feel to its then high-lifestyle mag feel and look.
Joseph Hong was the Editor for MINTS Magazine and My Space Magazine from April 2010 to July 2011.
He is presently the Editor for Landscape Forum Magazine. Working seamlessly with the Team (Ad Sales / Creative Dept.), Landscape Forum Magazine has taken on a new look with improved ad revenue.
